WASHIGNGTON, D.C. — Congressman John Lewis, D-Ga., addresses the groundbreaking ceremony for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture site recently, as President Barack Obama listens.  First lady Michelle Obama also participated in the Feb. 22 event, along with former first lady Laura Bush; D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray; Linda Johnson Rice and Richard Parsons, co-chairs of the museum advisory council; Dr. G. Wayne Clough, secretary of the Smithsonian Institution; Dr. France Cordova, chair, Smithsonian Board of Regents, and Lonnie Bunch, founding director of the museum, among others.
