Georgia is one of 10 states that hasn’t expanded Medicaid, leaving 300,000 Georgians without health care and nine rural hospitals to close
Meanwhile, Jackson’s made nearly a billion dollars in no-bid, taxpayer-funded health care contracts
In a new interview with WRBL-TV in Columbus, Slick Rick Jackson again said Georgia does not need to expand Medicaid, even as hundreds of thousands of Georgians go without health care and rural hospitals close. Meanwhile, Jackson has made nearly a billion dollars in taxpayer-funded, no-bid health care contracts.
In response to WRBL’s Chuck Williams stating “This state hasn’t expanded Medicaid and there’s been consequences because of that,” Jackson replied, “Well I don’t think the consequences are as bad as anybody else thinks.”
Georgia is one of 10 states that hasn’t expanded Medicaid, leaving 300,000 Georgians without health care coverage and nine rural hospitals closed.
“If you’re a billionaire like Slick Rick Jackson, of course the consequences of failing to expand Medicaid aren’t bad — but for everyday Georgians who cannot afford care or have to travel for life-saving services, there’s nothing worse,” said TaNisha Cameron, Keisha for Governor campaign spokesperson. “While Slick Rick Jackson wants to continue to profit off a broken health care system, Keisha wants to change it to lower costs and get people the care they need, and that starts by expanding Medicaid.”
