Atlanta Hawks Fan Experiences NBA Life With ’10-Day Dream’

Matthew Hill scored the ultimate basketball fan experience: a chance to live like a professional NBA player through Michelob ULTRA’s “10-Day Dream” contract with the Atlanta Hawks.

The experience transformed the traditional concept of a 10-day contract into an unforgettable behind-the-scenes journey—one designed for a passionate fan.

For 10 action-packed days, Hill walked into the shoes of an Atlanta Hawks player. He received access to elite-level coaching, personalized workouts, and professional training facilities.

Hill shares thoughts on the “10-Day Dream.”

First things first, tell us a little about yourself and how this 10-day experience began?
My name is Matthew Hill, I’m from Tampa, Florida. Over the last several days, I’ve been immersed in this incredible experience of signing a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks. I feel very fortunate. The access has been amazing—being on the court, meeting Hawks legends, and even training with the coaching staff. It’s truly been unforgettable.

For those who might not know, what exactly did this experience include? What was your day-to-day like?
It was a dynamic schedule—something different every day. I did skills training with the actual coaches of the Hawks. I even got to shoot around with Hawks legend Joe Johnson, or “Iso Joe.” It was packed with incredible, hands-on moments that made it feel real.

What was the most surreal or “real” part about living the life of an NBA player?
Honestly, being on the court at the Hawks’ practice facility and having the freedom to just stay there, shoot around, and soak it all in. I kept trying to move off the court, but they told me, “No, you’re good—stay, shoot.” Also, seeing Dominique Wilkins walk into the room—he’s one of my favorite players of all time. Just getting a moment to talk to him was unbelievable.

Walk us through the moment you stepped onto the floor. What were you feeling?
It was nerve-wracking—but in the best way. Being at State Farm Arena, seeing my name on the Jumbotron, the smoke, the intro… it felt like I was about to play in an actual game. I had butterflies, like I was suiting up for real. For someone who’s played basketball most of their life, it was a dream come true.

Lastly, any advice for the next person who might win this experience?
Soak up every second. It wasn’t just a moment—they built a full 10-day journey, full of different events and surprises. Most contests would be one day or one event, but this was packed from beginning to end. I don’t think there’s a better prize out there for an NBA fan.
