Hollywood celebrated the 79th Annual Golden Globe Awards Sunday (January 9) –– but without most of the fanfare that goes into award show ceremonies.

There was no red carpet, no celebrities this year. The event wasn’t broadcast or even livestreamed, but was held in private without press at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA. Winners were announced on social media throughout the night.

Organizers attributed the scaled back ceremony to the surging Covid-19 pandemic, and NBC announced last year it wouldn’t broadcast or livestream the 2022 awards following public backlash over the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s lack of diversity and alleged unethical business dealings.

Since then, the HFPA claims to have made “sweeping changes” to its bylaws and may be the reason why this year’s nominee list was slightly more diverse.

Here’s all of the 2022 Black Golden Globe winners.
