Financial Education Resource Fair: Organizations Partners With City Treasurer Kirk Summers

On Saturday, February 27th from 8:00am – 3:00pm, South Shore Works, in conjunction with the Office of Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers, will host a Financial Education Resource Fair to help empower Chicagoan’s and promote economic opportunity throughout Chicago.  The fair is the sixth of eleven events that are part of the Treasurer’s ‘77 Proud’ initiative.  

Treasurer Summers will highlight a panel of featured speakers and presenters during the fair.  77 Proud was launched in January and will be conducted through March 11th to raise awareness of financial education for residents of all ages.

Where: Bouchet Math and Science Academy @ 7355 South Jeffery, Ave 60649 

Panel discussions and presentations will offer working sessions on economic development, housing, health and wellness including workshops on art and culture. South Shore Works’ objective is to bring residents together with businesses and elected officials to spark revitalization through community investment.

Several local community organizations are slated to participate in the day-long fair. They include Southeast Side Block Club Alliance, Black United Fund of Illinois, South Shore Chamber of Commerce, The South Shore Current Magazine, South Shore Community Action Council, South Shore Healthy Food Hub, South Shore Alliance and The Planning Coalition.
