Atlanta has gained a reputation as a place for some of the world’s most beautiful women, but a new survey finds that the city may be lacking in bikini-ready bodies.
Travel-dating website, MissTravel.com, polled 14,000 single males from around the country to determine the 15 Best and 5 Worst Bikini Body Cities and Atlanta ranked fifth worst.
Louisville, Ky., topped the list of best cities, while Anchorage, Alaska, was chosen as the worst. The list was compiled using data pulled from the profiles of the site’s most popular women, with the most travel-date offers from men outside of their general region. In addition, a poll of 14,000 single men in the United States helped determine the best and worst bikini body cities.
“Summer stimulates dating because it is a season where there is much to admire,” said Brandon Wade, Founder and CEO of MissTravel.com. “But the fastest way to ruin the fun is to be on a date with someone who lacks the confidence or the figure to be comfortable in a bikini.”
According to a release from MissTravel.com, the website boasts more than 300,000 members worldwide who go on first “dates” by traveling. The website’s benefactors are known as “Generous members” and are usually men, who invite “Attractive Members” to travel for free on destination dates, or to show each other their towns. The release says that there are three women to each man on the site.
“As men, we admire this simple truth: beautiful weather brings beautiful women, and beautiful women bring bikinis bodies,” said Wade. “What more can a man ask for?”
Atlanta’s low ranking was actually out of sync with the trend of the best and worst bikini bodies on the site.
Southern cities like Louisville, Montgomery, Ala., Orlando and Nashville made up four of the five top rated cities. In fact, the Southeast made up six of the top 10 spots.
As for the five worst, Sacramento, El Paso, Texas, and Chicago joined Atlanta and Anchorage in ignominy.
