Students walked out of classes in solidarity with Minnesota’s general strike and to demand ICE out of our communities!
Over 17 Georgia schools walked out of classes today in solidarity with Minnesota’s general strike and to demand ICE out of our communities! The people of Minnesota have taken bold action against ICE terror. They are answering a historic call for a statewide economic shutdown — no school, no work, no shopping — a general strike!
Over the past week, we have witnessed students across the country in the tens of thousands walking out of classes against ICE terror. Here in Georgia, thousands of students at a dozen schools organized walk outs on Jan 20 against Trump’s far-right billionaire program of racist violence and war. More Georgia schools joined the movement today, Jan 23!

Over 600 students at Duluth High School walked out and rallied on campus at 10:31 AM. At 12:00 PM today, over 1,000 students walked out at McClure Health Science High School and proceeded to march to Meadowcreek High School, where over 1,000 students walked out at 12:34 PM. The two schools merged their walkouts and held a student-led rally against ICE. Other schools that held walkouts today include:
1. Johns Creek High School
2. Chattahoochee High School
3. McClure Health Science High School
4. August University
5. Agnes Scott College
6. Northside High School
7. Georgia Gwinnett College
8. Dunwoody High School
9. Pebblebrook High School
10. Lanier High School
11. Union Grove High School
12. Gwinnett School of Mathematics Science and Technology
13. Shiloh Middle School
13. Shiloh High School
14. Druid Hills High School
15. Heritage High School
16. Rockdale County High School
17. DeKalb School of Arts!
The people of Georgia stand in solidarity with Minnesota. The working class people of this country make society run and we have the power to shut it down! A wave of general strikes can stop Trump!
