The Atlanta Hawks honored Outkast’s contributions to the cultural legacy of Atlanta and the duo’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with a special Outkast-themed night as the team faced-off against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The night featured iconic tracks from Outkast throughout the evening, a one-of-a-kind, limited collectible giveaway item and a halftime performance from the Tri-Cities High School Marching Bulldog Band under the direction of Dr. Tarik Rowland.
The first 5,000 fans received an exclusive Outkast figurine set of the iconic duo, Big Boi and André 3000, created by Handmade by Robots. These collectible vinyl figures feature a unique, hand-knit design of Outkast in Atlanta Hawks gear and are produced by robots.
One half of Outkast, a rap icon, resident ATLien and seven-time GRAMMY-Award winner Big Boi was in attendance and received a special acknowledgement to celebrate the duo’s historic achievement as the first Southern hip-hop act to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Halftime featured an exciting performance from Outkast’s East Point alma mater, Tri-Cities High School, where the Marching Bulldog Band under the direction of Dr. Tarik Rowland will perform a special tribute to the group.
Sitting in the Michelob ULTRA Courtside seats was Dungeon Family member and Outkast producer, Sleepy Brown. In addition to his extensive body of work with Outkast, contributing to No. 1 hits like ‘The Way You Move,’ Brown has worked with a plethora of historic Atlanta acts such as Goodie Mob and TLC.
