CommUnity of the Deaf, Inc. (CUD), a leading nonprofit championing the rights and well-being of Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals across the Caribbean and its diaspora, proudly announces its 1st Annual Social Awareness Gala and Excellence Recognition Awards, to be held on January 24, 2026, at Georgia Gwinnett College.

This transformative evening will bring together changemakers, advocates, educators, and allies in a powerful
celebration of culture, resilience, and achievement. The Gala will spotlight Deaf and Hard of Hearing
excellence while raising critical support for CUD’s educational and outreach initiatives, including the Deaf
Children’s Program in the Caribbean and inclusive leadership development programs throughout the region.
The Excellence Recognition Awards will honor exceptional individuals and organizations who have made
significant contributions to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in areas such as education, policy,
entrepreneurship, accessibility, and social justice. Their stories of innovation, advocacy, and perseverance will inspire and challenge all who attend.
