South Atlanta High School Students Receive $220,000 in Making a Difference Scholarships

TRUCKWRECK TO AWARD OVER $220,000 TO SOUTH ATLANTA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THROUGH ITS 2025 ‘MAKING A DIFFERENCE’ SCHOLARSHIP

1-800-TruckWreck, powered by Witherite Law Group, is committed to giving back to the community of Atlanta and thus has selected the 2025 “Making a Difference” Scholarship recipients.  The award presentation will take place on Wednesday, May 14, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at South Atlanta High School, 800 Hutchens Rd. SE, Atlanta, GA 30354.

This year, 89 graduating seniors, up from 64 in 2024, will each be awarded a $2,500 scholarship, making a total of $222,500 in scholarship funds awarded by 1-800-TruckWreck.  Additionally, if students maintain a 2.5 GPA and take at least 12 credit hours, their “Making a Difference” Scholarships are renewable annually.  Created in 2014 by Amy Witherite, founder of Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck, the “Making a Difference” Scholarship provides financial assistance to students who have demonstrated leadership in their schools and communities.  Since the inception of the scholarship program, 1-800-TruckWreck has awarded 404 scholarships and renewed 398 scholarships total—an investment of approximately $1,990,000.00 across all schools supported by the firm in the Atlanta, Chicago and Dallas markets.

“Accruing overwhelming student loan debt is a valid concern, as rising costs make post-secondary education less attainable for the majority.  Financial assistance – like scholarships – can be a lifeline for those seeking to further their education,” said Amy Witherite, owner of Witherite Law Group and 1-800-TruckWreck.  “For nearly a decade we’ve given our scholarship to students in Atlanta.  We’re excited to see how this group of recipients will use their natural talent and education to reach their full potential.”

To further assist, 1-800-TruckWreck hosted a pop-up shop for graduating seniors who had applied for the law firm’s “Making a Difference” Scholarship.  The shop provided each student with proper attire for upcoming college tours and interviews, including the “Making a Difference” Scholarship interview.

The Witherite “Making a Difference” Scholarship presentation will take place from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Scholarship awards will be presented by Angella Myers.  The 1-800-TruckWreck portion of the program will conclude with closing remarks and photos at 10:30 a.m.
