Andrea L. Smith 
Andrea Smith currently serves as a Manager of Clinical Specialists with the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority. This role is primarily responsible for assisting in the implementation, and monitoring of clinical service models and strategically planning and implementing ways to address the gaps through training and Grantsmanship.
Andrea is certified to instruct QPR-a suicide prevention program, and is also certified as a National Council for Behavioral Healthcare Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Through this, participants are provided with an introductory overview of behavioral health issues that they may encounter in their daily positions.
Andrea is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Health Administration Program at Central Michigan University, and received her Master of Social Work degree from Eastern Michigan University. She has held positions of Program Evaluator, Project Manager, Veteran Supportive Housing Coordinator, Guest Lecturer, Research Associate, and Child Development Specialist.
She enjoys spending time with her husband of eleven years; a Military Combat Veteran, and their five young children. She is very passionate about homeless military veterans and minorities who are educationally and economically disadvantaged.
