One of the most poignant and important highlights of an uproarious and immensely enjoyable Steve Harvey’s Ford Neighborhood Awards was the cash-prize winner of the Community Service Award.
The winner of the Ford Community Leader of Year Award went to Atlanta’s James L. Jones Sr., founder and chairman of Simply United Together. He was presented a $30,000 check to help his organization go further. Shawn Thompson, Ford Multicultural Marketing Manager, presented the check alongside Anthony Anderson and Shirley Strawberry.
Simply United Together is a catalyst for positive social change and community empowerment that supports diversified idealism that promotes community sustainability, human relations and civic empowerment.
Headquartered in Atlanta and starting on Facebook, SUTÂ currently has 204 chapters, 52 divisions and is represented in 49 of the 50 states as well as internationally with chapters in Africa, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Middle East, Asia, South America, Australia and the Caribbean.
