Atlanta-based rapper Ludacris and pop-rockers Sugar Ray will cap the festivities at the 26th Annual Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.
Entertainment offerings will begin at 11 a.m. on Dec. 31 on the Kenny’s Alley Stage and Budding Peach Stage and culminate with the drop of the 800-pound illuminated peach and a burst of confetti and fireworks.
Ludacris just got engaged to his longtime, on-and-off girlfriend Eudoxie, is planning to release his ninth album, “Ludaversal” in March. After a lengthy self-imposed moratorium on music, Luda got it cracking again with “Party Girls” (featuring Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih and Cashmere Cat) and “Good Lovin’” (featuring Miguel).
Ludacris won’t be along with helping the ATL to get “turned up” on New Year’s Eve night. The Mark McGrath-led Sugar Ray, the band behind such giddy late-‘90s radio fare as “Fly,” “Every Morning” and “Someday” will perform for the party throngs.
