Rachael Murphy Humphrey is a native of Baltimore Maryland, and received her Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Virginia State University in May, 1977.
Rachael resigned from Avon Products, Inc after 12 years, earning several honors produced recognition and trips to Japan, Hong Kong, France and the Bahamas.
In 1998, she founded Metro Records Management, a Xerox dealer and outsource resource partner. Her business ownership experience spans over 15 years working with her husband, Vernon. Mrs. Humphrey was a 2006 Atlanta Business League Outstanding Woman of the Year finalist, and in November, 2008 she won the Greater Women’s Business Council Trailblazer Award.
She also serves as Vice President and co-owner of sister company, Mail Centers Plus, an outsource firm for document distribution and mail service operations. Their operations have earned her valued business awards as well as appearances in The Coca-Cola Company advertisement as a valued business partner.
Humphrey is a member of the Board of Directors of her 119 year old family-owned newspaper, The Afro-American Newspapers and since 2011 the Greater Women’s Business Council Board. In addition she is a member of Big Bethel AME Church in Atlanta, most recently appointed to the Steward Board. Since 2003, she has volunteered with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Rachael has been an active member of Decatur Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. which her grandmother, Vashti Turley Murphy co-founded, and in 2008, she was re-appointed by to serve on a national committee.
In addition, Rachael completed the NMSDC Advanced Management Education Program at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. In 2006, she completed The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth Tuck-WBENC Executive Program.
Her immediate family include Carl Murphy Humphrey who manages the MRM/China operations, Giana Murphy Humphrey, a manager at the American Cancer Society and Vernon Humphrey serve as officers of MRM.
