The 15-year-old son of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kim Zolciak and former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Kroy Biermann Sr. has been indicted on multiple charges stemming from an alleged sexual assault, according to CBS News.
A Fulton County grand jury indicted Kroy Biermann Jr. on charges of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under 16, the outlet reported Thursday.
Biermann Jr. is being held at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Atlanta. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
The teenager was arrested Aug. 17 after a classmate alleged that he assaulted her in a changing room near a co-ed sauna at a Fulton County high school, according to media reports.
Alpharetta police responded to North Fulton Hospital on April 24 in connection with the case, WANF-TV previously reported. The date listed in a redacted incident report was April 23.
The student was taken to a hospital after reporting aggravated sexual battery and aggravated sodomy, Us Weekly reported, citing a police report. The publication said the report noted that an examination found no male DNA on the student.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Zolciak denied the allegations on her son’s behalf and urged the public to allow the legal process to proceed.
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” she said. “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.”
Zolciak also said her son passed a voluntary polygraph examination and that no DNA belonging to him was found. She cautioned against publicly condemning someone based solely on an accusation and said the family remained confident that the facts and evidence would establish the truth.
Biermann Jr. informed his father of the allegations in May, TMZ previously reported.
The charges remain allegations. Biermann Jr. has not been convicted.
