The 77-year-old music legend checked himself into a St. Louis hospital on Saturday (August 29) after performing at The Muny, according to PEOPLE.
Richie was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he underwent cardiac testing, KTLA reported. Doctors were also looking into possible dehydration, according to TMZ.
During his August 29 performance, Richie asked his team to bring him a chair while performing “All Night Long.” He finished the show before seeking medical attention “out of caution,” according to TMZ.
In June, Richie fell ill during a performance in St. Paul, Minnesota, telling the crowd he felt “dizzy” and “strange” before cutting the show short. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance and later postponed two shows to rest, TMZ reported.
Richie is currently on the “Sing a Song All Night Long” tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. He is scheduled to perform next on September 26 in San Francisco.
