| With no end in sight to Donald Trump’s deadly and costly war of choice with Iran, Georgia families continue to pay more at the pump as gas prices skyrocket. Georgia’s average gas prices have jumped more than 30 cents in the last month alone, adding pain at the pump to the sky-high costs already squeezing Georgians. A reminder: Since the beginning of Trump’s war with Iran, Georgia families have paid nearly a dollar more in higher gas prices. Meanwhile, Pentagon officials admitted that Trump’s war has cost American taxpayers as much as $100 billion, and other estimates say $1,100 per household since it started. In response, Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Charlie Bailey released the following statement: “Donald Trump and Republican leaders continue forcing Georgians to pay the cost of their deadly, unpopular war of choice with Iran. Georgia working families already stretched to the breaking point by sky-high costs for groceries and health care are now being hit hard at that gas pump too. Georgians are in desperate need of relief, but instead of lifting a finger to bring down costs, Trump and Republican leaders would rather send us the bill for a war they can’t justify or explain.” |
