Atlanta Daily World stands as the first Black daily publication in America. Started in 1927 by Morehouse College graduate W.A. Scott. Currently owned by Real Times Media, ADW is one of the most influential Black newspapers in the nation.

Global rap superstar Lil Baby continued his commitment to giving back to his hometown by hosting the sixth annual Back to School Fest through his community-based nonprofit, The Jones Project. Held at West End Production Park in Atlanta’s historic West End neighborhood, the event welcomed 4,000 students and their families for a day dedicated to preparing children for the upcoming school year.

The festival provided free school supplies, clothing, school uniforms, haircuts, food, gift cards, games, and other giveaways, ensuring students had the resources they need to begin the academic year with confidence. The celebration also brought together local leaders, including Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, City Council representative Michael Bond, and Judge Penny Brown Reynolds, underscoring the event’s importance to the Atlanta community.

The annual initiative was made possible through partnerships with The Athlete’s Foot, Dr. Bombay, Dude Wipes, Fanatics, It’s Bigger Than Us, J. Mcallister Events, NextEra Energy, The Period Abundance Foundation, West End Production, Wet Ones, and several additional sponsors.

For Lil Baby, community service has become a defining part of his legacy. “Giving back to my city is everything,” he said. “You need the right tools to build your future. We’re keeping the next generation fresh, locked in, and motivated to learn.”

His philanthropic efforts have extended far beyond the Back to School Fest. In recent years, the Atlanta native partnered with Foot Locker to renovate basketball courts at Oakland City Park, supplied local students with new shoes, distributed 200 bicycles to neighborhood children, and donated 2,000 winter coats to families in need. He also established a $150,000 scholarship fund at his former high school and has quietly covered college tuition costs for several students, helping remove financial barriers to higher education. Earlier this year, he also hosted the Mrs. Trendsetter Mother’s Day Flowers Pop-Up, giving children the opportunity to create custom bouquets and heartfelt cards for their mothers.

The community celebration comes during another successful chapter in Lil Baby’s career. His latest single, “Dead Fresh,” has topped Apple Music’s charts, become a viral sensation on TikTok, climbed Shazam’s U.S. rankings, and surpassed two million YouTube views following its premiere at Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2027 Men’s Show, produced by Pharrell Williams.
