District 6 Commissioner Emma I. Darnell welcomed District 6 residents to the June 20, 2016 Town Hall meeting focusing on “Challenges and Opportunities.”

In a two-hour Q&A session, service delivery concerns expressed by residents included solid waste, senior transportation and pedestrian sidewalks. Residents also expressed deep concerns related to the condition of tennis centers and courts including Creel Park and Burdett Park, zoning and land-use patterns in neighborhoods adjacent to Old National Highway noting a concentration of starter homes in the area. Department representatives presenting Special Reports included Gary Stiles, Chief of Police, Police Athletic League, Crime Prevention and Crime Suppression Strategies.
