Grandmothers of Pearls celebrate Black History

GRANDMOTHERS IN AFRICAN DRESS—Grandmothers of Pearls hosted its Monthly Gathering at the Homewood Center, Homewood. To attend, one had to be a grandmother or greater and wear a pearl necklace—real or costume. If they didn’t own pearls a set was loaned to them. The afternoon included entertainment, informational and inspirational speakers, and entertainment. Guests were asked to wear African garb in observance of Black History Month.
