Summer 2014 is almost over and for some that might mean preparing the Corvette for winter storage. During the 2014 United Council of Corvette Clubs Annual Convention, the city of Pittsburgh got their fill of beautiful Corvettes. This year, United Rays of Pittsburgh hosted the UCCC convention at the Doubletree Hotel in Monroeville.  Some UCCC members drove their Vettes to the ‘Burgh and some brought them in a trailer, but no matter how they got them here, they all made it for a week of festivities that were car centered.

For this group of ladies and gents, the cars are extensions of their personalities and their families. The cars are pampered, polished and presented during the contests and races. Many events were open to the public and there were dozens of Corvettes on display in the parking lot. The festivities began and ended with church services at local places of worship. Throughout the week there were bowling tournaments, car shows, racing events, pool parties and an open to the public grand finale party at the Double Tree Hotel.

There were several winners in the Pittsburgh Club. For the second year in a row, Joe Davis won the Overall Eliminator title and King of the Hill and Milton Oliver ran away with fastest time of the day in the men’s drag. Eighteen clubs attended the convention.
