For the fifth straight year, 3,000 families around the Atlanta area will receive Thanksgiving dinner boxes from World Changers Church International (WCCI). Church members and volunteers will distribute the Thanksgiving boxes to local families personally, beginning on Saturday. Each box will contain all of the ingredients for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, including a turkey.
Boxes will be distributed in the church parking lot at the intersection of Old National Highway. In the event of inclement weather, activities will be relocated to the Fellowship Hall. The church, located at 2500 Burdett Road, in College Park, says it will also send buses into underserved communities to pick up local families in need of transportation.
World Changers is best known for being the original church home of Pastor Creflo Dollar, who rose to prominence for his teachings of prosperity theology.
The distribution will begin at 11:00 a.m., with volunteers arriving at 8:30 a.m.
