Suspected Serial Rapist Arrested in Duluth

A Duluth man is now facing several charges after being accused of raping at least five women in a vacant apartment.

Joseph Tyler Sivonda, 23, was taken into custody Thursday by Gwinnett County Police and is currently facing charges of rape, aggravated sodomy and armed robbery.

According to The AJC, Sivonda supposedly hired female escorts online and met them at a Northeast Atlanta apartment complex.

Police say the victims claim Sivonda pulled out a handgun and forced the women into a vacant unit where police he sexually assaulted them.

Sivonda is currently being held at the Gwinnett County Jail. Records do not state whether Sivonda has an attorney or not.
