Atlanta Rapper Yung Teddy Found Dead Hours After Tweeting That He Received Death Threats

Up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Yung Teddy was found shot to death at his Austell home on Wednesday evening. Hours before his murder, he reportedly received death threats to his cellphone, which he wrote about on Twitter.

“N—-S WANNA SEE ME DEAD,” tweeted the 23-year-old rapper.

A few hours after posting his message on Twitter, police discovered his body.

The rapper, born Justin Mitchell, developed a large following in the Atlanta area. The young hip-hop performer was promoting a mixtape, “Right On Time,” and even had a music video for the single “Tru,” which has garnered nearly 40,000 hits on YouTube.

Cobb County police are seeking two black male suspects between the ages of 20 and 23.

The rapper’s death comes on the heels of death threats issued to two more prominent hip hop figures, Rick Ross and Gucci Mane, last month. Ross was reportedly forced to cancel two shows in North Carolina as a result. Gucci Mane, however, went on to perform in Macon after being warned by a local Crips gang member not to appear in the city.

So far, police are still investigating the motive behind the killing and are asking anyone with information to contact the Cobb County department at (770) 499-3945.
