Deadline to Register is Friday, Oct. 3
Fulton County high school students have the opportunity to become the next generation of podcasters through the 2025 Write to Rise Teen Podcast Competition, sponsored by Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington, Jr., Better Outcomes for Our Kids, Inc., and Friends of Wolfcreek, Inc.
The competition will award $1,000 in total prizes to the top three student-created podcasts, with winners announced on Nov. 1, 2025. Prizes are $500 for first place, $350 for second place, and $150 for third place.
But first, students must learn the art of podcasting. As part of the competition, participants are required to attend a four-part Podcast Workshop Series, held every Saturday in October at the South Fulton Art House:
October 4 – Podcasting Fundamentals; October 11 – Audio Storytelling Techniques
October 18 – Recording & Editing Skills; and October 25 – Publishing & Promotion
Workshops are 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Only 12 slots are available, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our young people to learn how to create and operate their very own podcast, which is the wave of the future in how the public receives information,” said Commissioner Arrington. “Decades ago, people turned to newspapers and TV; today, podcasts are shaping conversations, culture, and community voices. We want Fulton County teens to be at the forefront of this movement.”
