The former NFL safety debuted The Pivot Sports with Ryan Clark Monday (September 14) on The Pivot’s YouTube channel.
The new program features Clark alongside former NFL players Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor. The show brings the trio’s football conversations to a live format, with interviews, game analysis and touchscreen film breakdowns.
“The Pivot Sports” is produced in partnership with NFL Films and airs Mondays at 2 p.m. ET on The Pivot’s YouTube channel, according to PennLive.
Clark announced the show’s premiere on X, thanking the people who supported him following his departure from ESPN.
Clark was let go by ESPN in July as part of a broader round of layoffs after 11 years with the network. Clark was informed of the decision while appearing on “NFL Live.”
The layoffs came as ESPN prepared to integrate NFL Network into its operations. Clark has since pushed back on the idea that his departure was simply a layoff, telling The Big Lead that he believes he was fired.
In an interview with The Athletic, Clark reflected on the departure and said it pushed him to pursue a venture of his own.
“People always say, ‘Hey, go start your own thing,'” Clark told the outlet. “But without that layoff at ESPN, I don’t believe, to be honest with you, that I ever take this step.”
Now, he is expanding the media brand he built with Crowder and Taylor. The trio launched “The Pivot Podcast” in 2022.
NFL fans reacted to the new show on social media, with viewers praising Clark’s new studio setup and his decision to build his own platform.
Clark described the new chapter as “definitely a triumphant one” in his interview with The Athletic.
“I’m not lamenting what was lost,” Clark said.
