Following the May 19 General Primary, several federal, statewide, and local races did not produce an outright winner and now head to a runoff. DeKalb County voters will return to the polls on Tuesday, June 16, to decide these contests. Here’s what you need to know to make your voting plan.
Important Dates to RememberEarly Voting: June 6 – June 12Last Day to Request an Absentee Ballot: June 5Election Day: Tuesday, June 16 (polls open 7 a.m.–7 p.m.)Absentee Ballot Return: Must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day — not postmarkedEarly Voting HoursSaturday, June 6: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.Sunday, June 7: Noon – 6 p.m.Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m
Which Ballot Can You Vote For?Because May 19 was a partisan primary, voters who cast a ballot then may only vote in the runoff of the same party they selected. Voters who did not participate on May 19 may choose either party’s ballot. Nonpartisan contests (such as the Board of Education) are open to all eligible voters.
