Tonight, Georgia state representative Tanya Miller released the following statement on her victory in the Democratic primary for Georgia Attorney General:
“I am deeply honored to accept the Democratic nomination for Georgia’s Attorney General. None of this would be possible without my family, friends, and an incredible team who believed in this mission from the start. Together, we built a growing, diverse coalition of volunteers and neighbors who carried this campaign and I am grateful for every single one of them. I also want to thank my friend Bob Trammell for running a hard-fought, principled campaign. I look forward to working with him and Democrats across Georgia to win up and down the ticket this November.
This November, Georgians will have the chance to elect an Attorney General who actually works for them. Not special interests. Not the powerful. And not the well-connected. We are at a pivotal moment in Georgia, where too many corporate bad actors and corrupt politicians are making life harder for working families and everyday people.
The Attorney General’s office has a responsibility to protect every family, business, and community across our state. That’s why I stand ready to earn every vote over the next six months to be Georgia’s chief defender — so people and their families can have a justice system and an economy that works for them.”
