Authorities have arrested a ninth suspect in connection with the alleged kidnapping and robbery of Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane at a recording studio. Among those taken into custody are fellow rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30.
The arrests marks the ninth in connection with the alleged kidnapping and armed robbery of Gucci Mane (Radric Delantic Davis) and several music industry figures at a Dallas recording studio in January 2026.
Eight suspects were taken into custody on April 1 following a Department of Justice press briefing led by U.S. Attorney Ryan Rabel. A ninth suspect, Terrence Rodgers, is still being sought, though authorities say his arrest is expected soon.
According to the federal complaint, three industry professionals traveled to Dallas for what they believed was a legitimate business meeting arranged by Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) to discuss a recording contract. Once inside the studio, prosecutors allege that Shiesty and eight accomplices carried out a coordinated armed robbery. Shiesty allegedly brandished an AK-style firearm and forced one victim to sign a contract release, while others displayed weapons and stole watches, jewelry, cash, and other valuables.
One victim was reportedly choked nearly unconscious, and Big30 (Rodney Lamont Wright Jr.) is accused of blocking the exit to prevent escape. Among those arrested was Shiesty’s father, Lontrell Williams Sr., who prosecutors say helped organize the incident.
Investigators cited extensive evidence, including electronic monitoring data placing Shiesty at the scene in violation of his home detention, as well as phone records, license plate tracking, rental car documents, surveillance footage, and fingerprint matches. Authorities also noted that some suspects appeared to display stolen items on social media shortly after the robbery.
Shiesty’s legal situation may further complicate the case. At the time, he was on home confinement following a prior federal conviction involving firearms and drug-related offenses. Prosecutors say violating those conditions could significantly increase potential penalties, which range up to life in prison depending on each defendant’s role.
The case has drawn particular attention given Shiesty’s past affiliation with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records and his rise to fame with the 2020 hit “Back in Blood.”
