As a part of its second annual “Day of Service,” the Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) student-run H.E.A.L. clinic will conduct health screenings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Billye Suber Aaron Pavillion on the school’s campus at 720 Westview Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.
The event, which will also feature music, food and voter registration, includes free screenings for prostate cancer, blood pressure, glucose levels, cholesterol, Hemoglobin A1C and diabetes. The MSM H.E.A.L. Clinic is a student operated program that provides a range of wellness services in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The screenings are being hosted by the clinic and the school’s student government association.
In addition to the screenings, MSM students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use the day to perform community service activities at designated non-profit organizations in Fulton, Cobb, Newton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Fayette and Henry County. The “Day of Service” event was launched last year as a part of the medical school’s 50th anniversary celebration.
