Atlanta City Council member Jason Dozier will team up with Stimulate America, a Georgia-based non-profit corporation, to host Magnolia Club Jobs, Housing and Resources for Seniors North Georgia Tour powered by Sonder Health. The event will be held on Thursday, June 12, at noon, inside Atlanta City Hall.
The event is the first of four being held in the Atlanta metropolitan area and will serve as a hub for attendees age 60 and older to engage in job opportunities, affordable housing, and apply for programs like SNAP, Medicaid, veteran benefits, and energy efficiency home renovations and more.
It will also feature presentations on topics including Social Security benefits, budgeting during inflation, healthy sleep techniques and other high-priority topics related to the senior community.
All seniors in attendance will receive lunch, one dozen eggs and a chance to win a brand new refrigerator. Translators will be onsite to assist and support the Hispanic senior community with program applications.
Participating providers include: Sonder Health Plans, CenterWell Senior Primary Care, Georgia Power, Senior Benefits Advisor, Truist Bank, Social Security Administration, Atlanta Constituent Services, Atlanta Housing Authority, AARP Foundation, Georgia Department of Veterans Services, Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire, Medicare Patrol, SHIP, Captel, Georgia Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, St. Vincent De Paul, KBH Insurance, Lead Hazard Reduction Capacity Building Program, Rockdale County EMA, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Carol Care Health, Beam Federal Credit Union, Atlanta Citizens Review Board.
Stimulate America is a 501c3 corporation since 2009 has provided resources, education and aid to citizens adversely affected by the continual economic crises through Stimulate America Impact Initiativesâ„¢ designed to directly reach the needs of the community. Magnolia Club is a Stimulate America Impact Initiativesâ„¢ which provides free resources and edification events for legacy generation members aged 60 and up created to combat senior depression, provide safe socialization spaces to promote inclusion for our elders.
