Pop-up Event Will Celebrate And Showcase Bronzeville Community

AARP Illinois, Chicago 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell and 4th Ward Alderman Sofia King have joined forces in support of the Bronzeville Neighborhood Collaborative’s (BNC) Bronzeville en Blanc event.

The event is modeled after world-renowned pop-up dinner events, according to a release, and will take place this Saturday, July 16 at Anderson Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Three hundred people are expected to participate, dressed in all white, and bring dinner, enjoy music, and network in Bronzeville.  Guests will experience the beauty of Bronzeville by participating in the unexpected.

“We are proud to join forces with leaders and residents in Bronzeville to be part of this unique event,” said AARP Illinois State Director, Bob Gallo. “Through events like Bronzeville en Blanc AARP listens to the issues that matter to Chicago residents and works with them to help build better communities.”

“I’ve always said that Bronzeville is one of Chicago’s hidden cultural gems.  Bronzeville is historically relevant, close to the lake, to the loop and affordable. Now, with more and more events like Bronzeville en Blanc, it is fast becoming a place where people want to live and also come for recreation,” said 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell in a statement.
