ATLANTA — For the second time in three weeks, singer and actress Demetria McKinney totally immersed herself in an impromptu duet with another dynamic songstress that absolutely riveted and electrified the viewing audience at the Suit Lounge on Sunday.
This time, McKinney called up celebrity friend and R&B singer Kelly Price and they completely ripped it with stunning vocals as they covered Mariah Carey’s blockbuster hit “Hero” that garnered a rousing roof-rattling ovation from the all-female audience. It was one of the climactic moments of McKinney’s first annual “Single Mom’s Mothers Day” that served to pay homage to, and provide comradarie, for the many single mothers out there who are holding it down at home with their children, alone, and still making noise in the marketplace or studio or movie sets.
Among the many in attendance included Price, Meelah Williams (“R&B Divas”), Jasmine Burke (“Saints and Sinners”), Egypt Sherrod (HGTV), Coco Brown (“For Better or Worse”), gospel singer Marica Chisolm, Deirdra Allen (“Cutting it in the ATL”), Sarah Lowe (“Selling it in the ATL”) and many more.
