ATLANTA — Horror fanatic Carla Saunders, a former extra on Tyler Perry films, has now churned out a series of riveting, startling and stomach-churning horror films and thriller movies in recent years that she’s financed on her own.

Her latest is the independent horror film GPS, the tale of a group of people who wound up in a destination far different than the one they intended — and the horrific ramifications they incurred. The St. Louis import-turned-Atlanta resident held her red carpet premiere at the Landmark Midtown Arts Cinema near Piedmont Park along with many of the cast and crew.
