OMEGA MEN IN WHITE—Brandon Jennings, Ron Coursey, event co-chair, and Justin Laing
As always the brothers of Omega Psi Phi, Iota Phi Chapter close the summer with a great Labor Day Weekend party.
The weekend kicked off at the popular Savoy Restaurant with Friday night party on the deck. Saturday night the hot ticket was for the White Party at Cruse in the Strip District. Everyone got the white memo and showed up and showed out in their best white attire.
On Sunday, there was a “day party” Bowties and Sun dresses at the Rivers Casino. In the upper level ballroom of the Rivers Casino guest enjoyed a full brunch, dancing to Teejay the Deejay and the views from the balcony of the Rivers Casino balcony.
The end of the day party gave the crowd just enough time to go home and change for the ever popular boat ride. The boat ride began with a tailgate meet and greet at the Station Square dock sponsored by Outback Steak House. Hundreds then lined up for the Que Boat ride. The boat ride featured jazz on the upper deck and Tee Jay the deejay on the lower deck.
Rahmon Hart said the entire weekend is a fundraiser that raises funds for secondary education scholarships, their Omega Carter G. Woodson Academy, the Ron Foster Memorial Golf Tournament, the Sylvester Pace Historically Black College Tour, Thanksgiving baskets and their Christmas toy drive. More than 1,600 attended the Labor Day weekend party.
Omega Psi Phi is also renovating their frat house in East Liberty. The Iota Phi chapter is celebrating 90 years. These programs and initiatives would not be possible without the broad support we receive from the Omega wives, friends, family members, volunteers, and sponsors.
