Former Falcons Jamal Anderson arrested for DUI, again

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Former Atlanta Falcons star running back has been charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Jamal Sharif Anderson, 42, was arrested and charged Sunday.
According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy stopped Anderson after 2 a.m. Sunday on Friendship Road at Deaton Creek Parkway for allegedly failing to maintain lane.
“He took a field sobriety test but refused to grant his consent to an alcohol sensor and blood test,” Chad Mann, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, wrote in an email.
Anderson was arrested and taken to the Hall County Jail. He made bond and was released from the jail after 10 a.m. Sunday.
No information as to an attorney or a contact for Anderson was available, according to a representative from the Hall County clerk’s office.
Anderson was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1994 and played with the team through 2001. He holds the team record for the number of rushes in a single season.
The former running back posted career highs in 1998 for rushing yards and touchdowns on the way to helping Atlanta reach Super Bowl XXXIII.
