September 11th will forever remain one of the most tragic days in American history.
If you lived through it, you have a clear memory of exactly what you were doing when the first tower was hit. Sheer horror ensued once it became quite clear the initial ‘plane crash’ was much more than an accident.
Millions were affected one way or another by the devastation that struck the World Trade Center Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the final commercial plane that crashed in a Pennsylvania field. More than 3,000 people were killed during the attacks, including about 400 firefighters and police officers.
Despite the shock and pain of this tragedy, New York City has vowed to rebuild and stand strong. Hence, the construction of the 9/11 Memorial Museum. It was designed to educate, but also honor those who were injured and lost their lives on that forsaken day.
