A surburban Atlanta man is in Fulton County Jail after police say he pushed his wife out of a moving car onto Ga. 400.
“Apparently the wife thought the husband was driving under the influence,” Roswell police Officer Zachary Frommer told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik. “The vehicle pulled over onto the shoulder and sometime during the argument, according to a witness, it looked like the driver pushed the passenger out of the car.”
Wildart Duverson, 33, remains confined on domestic battery charges, WSB-TV reports.
Thankfully for the woman, her injuries were minor and a good Samaritan stopped to help the wife.
“It was great they stopped and helped her out,” said Frommer told the television news station. “Probably helped get her medical treatment quicker, helped us locate her faster, too.”
The couple has a history of marital strife, the stepfather of the wife told the news station.
“They’ve been together 10 years and always a problem,” said Nelson St. Louis. “He’s got a drinking problem all the time.”
St. Louis said his stepdaughter is doing OK.
Police went to Duverson’s home in Johns Creek home and apprehended the suspect.
“If you treat a woman like that, you have to think about your mama,” he said. “You can’t do that to no woman.”
The wife of Duverson called later and said the episode did not pop off the way officers reported it. She said she was not pushed but rather got out on her own volition after the argument.
