STYLE AWARD WINNERS—Philip Pelusi, JoAnne Harrop and LaMont Jones

There were pop up fashion shoots around the city, truck shows, designer fashion shows and a boutique crawl in Lawrenceville. These exciting fashion based events were a part of the Second Annual Pittsburgh Style Week presented by Style and Steel Pittsburgh and founded by Wadria Taylor.
The week began on Aug. 11 with a designer fashion show at the beautiful Priory Grand Hall. The spotlight was on two international designers: Laura Portia Brady from Dublin, Ireland and emerging designer Toya Taylor representing Kingston, Jamaica. Brady is bringing her European sense of style to Pittsburgh, which represents a modern twist on vintage, adding a unique flavor to evening and bridal wear. The collection that she presented at Style Week Pittsburgh envisions a flurry of elegant Parisian soirees for the fashionable heroine, crafted from soft silky fabrics. Taylor’s collection is the perfect marriage between androgyny and classic femininity. Her designs are classic silhouettes with modern details. Taylor’s mix of bold prints and colors, representing her Caribbean heritage matched with clean lines, are the perfect statement pieces.
