Olivet Baptist celebrates pastor’s first anniversary

Olivet Baptist Church, located at 2312 Centre Ave.,  in the Hill District, hosted the first Pastoral Anniversary Celebration of Rev. Tyrone Munson.
LEARNING FROM THE MASTER—Rev. Tyrone Munson with retired pastor Rev. Dr. J. Van Alfred Winsett after his anniversary celebration sermon. Rev. Winsett retired after 24 years as the head of Ebenezer Baptist Church, in the Hill District.

The theme was “Let Go, Let God.” Guest preachers for the weeklong celebration services included Pastor Cathryn Brundage, Pastor James Hunt and Pastor Emeritus Rev. Dr. J. Van Alfred Winsett.

The celebration also included a concert featuring the Afro-American Music Institute Boys Choir and a special tribute to Baby Helen Munson Turner-Henix, Mary Alice Munson and Bathsheba Ann Mitchell.
