Anyone traveling along Interstate 95, a major highway in Virginia, will be greeted with a large Confederate flag. This is actually the second time. The first one was placed by the same group, The Virginia Flaggers, last year.
According to the Reuters, the group raised the 20-by-30-foot (6-by-9-meter) flag on Saturday, near Fredericksbusrg, which is about 60 miles north of Richmond.
“We have no problems with people who have different points of view, but we also want them to respect our views,” Reuters quoted the spokesman Barry Isenhour saying.
He told the publication that the flag gives honor to the 250,000 Confederate soldiers who fought near the city in different battles. The flag is also on private property and received funding through donations that came in after the first flag stirred up controversy.
