No arrests have yet been made in the case of an Atlanta pastor who was found stabbed to death over the weekend. The lifeless body of Rev. Otis Byrd Sr. was found around noon Sunday, according to police, after he failed to show up for church.
Byrd Sr. was a pastor at Woodward Baptist Church, according to the church’s online records. The church is located in northwest Atlanta at 1109 Hollywood Road.
Police were called to Byrd’s home in the 600 block of Finley Avenue in Atlanta, where they found him dead on the floor, Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police told the AJC.
The police have not said whether they have any suspects, but none have yet been taken into custody Chafee told the paper.
