Kwanzaa celebrationSometimes forgotten during the holiday rush is the Pan-African holiday of Kwanzaa. For members of the Atlanta community interested in learning more about the holiday or celebrating it in traditional fashion, the APEX Museum’s annual Kwanzaa Festival is just around the corner.
This year’s Kwanzaa event for the entire family will take place on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2013 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
“The Kwanzaa program will include a candle lighting ceremony, affirmation of Nguzo Saba, Call & Response, pouring of the Ancestral Libation, and more,” said representatives of the APEX Museum in a statement. “The APEX Museum’s Kwanzaa Festival is a community event and all drummers, dancers, singers, rappers, story-tellers, poets, film makers, visual artists, and other positive performers and artists are welcome as we celebrate the seven principles of KWANZAA.”
The APEX Museum is located at 135 Auburn Ave NE, in Atlanta.
