Atlanta has been chosen as one of Google’s 2013 eCitys and Mayor Kasim Reed will accept the company’s award at a community celebration Wednesday morning at Paschal’s Restaurant.

Google’s eCity Awards recognize the strongest online business community in each state – the digital capitals of America. These cities’ businesses are embracing the web to find new customers, connect with existing clients and fuel their local economies. Atlanta joins the ranks of America’s leading cities in the digital economy.

Atlanta joins cities like Austin, Texas, and Westborough, Mass., that have been named the eCity capitals for their respective states. In all, 50 cities will be chosen as official 2013 eCities by Google.

Reed will be joined by Lilyn Hester, Google’s Southeast Public Affairs manager and members of Atlanta’s business community.

Paschal’s is located at 180 Northside Dr. SW, Atlanta, Ga., 30313
