Dream's Tiffany Hayes Has Successful Surgery

Atlanta Dreams Tiffany Hayes

Atlanta Dream guard Tiffany Hayes underwent successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus in her left knee, the team announced today. A full recovery is expected, but Hayes will miss 3-4 weeks.

Hayes, a 5-10 second-year guard, has started two games this season for the league-leading Dream (10-1), averaging 10.2 points and 4.2 rebounds. She has reached double figures in scoring six times and has led the team in scoring twice, including a season-best 21-point effort in the season opener against Tulsa.

Hayes averaged 8.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists as a rookie in 2012 while being named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team.

The two-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its sixth season at Philips Arena as part of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Dream qualified for the playoffs in each of the past four seasons, including back-to-back conference titles in 2010 and 2011. The next home game is scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, against the Connecticut Sun.
