Age 68 years old “ain’t what it used to be!”  And yoga instructor Janice Lennard  proves just that.

Born in 1942 in New Orleans,  Lennard has been studying, practicing and teaching yoga for over 40 years.

She has developed a teaching style that has gained respect for the intensity and awareness she brings to the practice of yoga, and her classes emphasize learning the art as a means to explore and study our inner selves.

A fifth generation  New Orleanian who grew up in the Hosing Project in the 6th Ward,  Lennard  currently teaches yoga, pilates and zumba at three World Gym locations  and  a number of private clubs in the  Palm Desert, Calif.,  area.  In addition to her weekly classes, she has been contacted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to instruct MS Students on the benefits of yoga.  She also volunteers at least once a week to teach a unique chair and wheelchair class that she calls “Music & Motion.”

This yoga instructor is married and has an education background that includes the Kelly School of Dance and the Louisiana State University in New Orleans and Lichine Ballet Academy in Beverly Hills.  She holds a number of yoga, pilates and zumba  positions  and is certified in all three disciplines, including Silver Sneakers, CPR and AED.
