Phine Chocolate Drop, Wesley Snipes is back on top with new tv series
Check out one of our favorite bad boys, Wesley Snipes as, “Mr. Johnson” from his new show THE PLAYER premiering today, Thursday, September 24 at 10pm EST/9pm CST on NBC!
Actor Wesley Snipes is hanging with the high rollers when NBC’s The Player premieres today September 24. The upcoming action series will follow former military operative Alex Kane (Philip Winchester), as he’s suddenly plunged into a secret organization that allows rich individuals to professionally gamble on one team’s ability to stop major crimes. In typical Snipes form he portrays the team’s pit boss–Johnson.

Snipes has revealed that he was inspired to sign on to the new drama is because he is such a huge fan of The Blacklist.
“When they told me that some of the writers and producing team from The Blacklist were putting this show together, I thought, ‘Okay. There’s a real opportunity to do some fun work here. A lot of good ensemble work, but also good action and dynamic action that I can bring to the table with good story,” Snipes said.
Snipes, joins the line of movie stars to accept television roles. He said getting the opportunity to play a mysterious character who wears different hats each week was a main draw to returning to television.
According to Snipes, “I get the chance to play a lot of different characters because Johnson is somewhat mysterious and ambitious, so I can be a good guy, I can be a bad guy, I can be all of the above,” explained Snipes. “These kind of things, you don’t often get a chance to do in feature films unless it’s a specific genre piece.”
The Player premieres on NBC Thursday, September 24 at 10 p.m.
