The Pastoral Installation Ceremony for Pastor-Elect Rev. Marie Kelly, who is now the first Black female senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in the Hill District, was held on the afternoon of Oct.12
Hundreds came out from all over to witness the process of the installation and to give Rev. Kelly support and wish her God’s glory.
“I wish I could take you all home with me because there are so many people here that I have not seen in years and I’m grateful that you all came out to support me,” Rev. Kelly said.
“When you believe and trust in God, there is nothing that He won’t do. I thank you all for every card, fruit basket, phone call, prayers, letters and everything that you’ve done for me. I’m humbled and grateful and love is what love does. I’m glad to be your pastor and I’m glad that this was ordained for such a time as this and I thank you all and I thank God.”
