Beyonce is one of the world’s biggest (and richest) pop icons, but she’s also very generous.
Beyonce dropped $7 million on her latest philanthropic endeavor — building a housing complex in Houston for homeless men and women.
Rev. Rudy Rasmus (who presided over her and Hov’s nuptials in 2008) told KHOU about Queen Bey’s major contribution to her church.
He said, “she’s an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here.”
Beyonce’s generosity didn’t start or end with the housing complex. Rev. Rasmus said she donated millions to the church. He said she embodied the true spirit of love.
“She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work and I’m glad she’s a friend of mine,” he said.
Beyonce has been part of the congregation since she was a very young girl and holds her church dear to her heart.
“She used to sing right here,” said Rasmus. “I don’t remember the song but I do remember she had long braids, tennis shoes and jeans on. A far cry from what she is today.”
