Get a load of the Atlanta Falcons’ pristine new home.
The Falcons have released renditions of the New Atlanta Stadium, the working title for the ultra-expensive, retractable-roof, multi-purpose stadium that will also house the Atlanta expansion team of Major League Soccer, which has yet to be named.
The new stadium will be built adjacent the old Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta, the team’s home for only 22 years. Deconstruction of the area around the Dome has already begun.
Recent news reports state that the stadium will likely open in time for the 2017 NFL season, with the projected cost as high as $1.2 billion, nearly double the original stated price of $700 million.
